Lee's View
Lee's view on the draft Code of Practice for Parts 2 and 3 of the Mental Health (Wales) Measure
The Mental Health (Wales) Measure (Welsh law) was passed in late 2010 and the Welsh Government is currently consulting service users, carers and others about the accompanying Code of Practice which sets out guiding principles and practice guidance for the operation of the Measure.
The following pages are dedicated to the Assembly Government consultation on the draft Code of Practice for Parts 2 and 3 of the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010.
Part 2 of the Measure is concerned with:
· the appointment of care coordinators as part of the process of planning and coordinating care; and
· care and treatment plans for people receiving secondary mental health services.
Part 3 of the Measure is concerned with:
· former users of secondary mental health services; and
· providing a right for them to refer themselves back to secondary services for assessment directly.
Below you will find a response to the consultation led by Lee McCabe which identifies key improvements which can be made to the draft Code for Parts 2 and 3 of the Measure, along with some useful links to further information...
