Welcome to Atebion Hafal Answers, working with service users, carers, mental health professionals, and statutory and voluntary organisations to improve mental health services in Wales

ATEBION HAFAL ANSWERS is a new consultancy service which combines the personal experiences of service users and carers with the work experience of commissioners and managers who have planned and delivered mental health services across the UK.

What do we do?

Publications and Projects
We offer short - and long-term consultancy to health and social care organisations seeking to implement the MENTAL HEALTH NATIONAL SERVICE FRAMEWORK in Wales.  Recent publications include:

  • Report on the Consultation with Users and Carers for the Review of Mental Health Services in Wales (the "Burrows-Greenwell Review")
  • Reducing Risk, Achieving Recovery - an action plan for people with severe mental illness who come into contact with the Criminal Justice System.
  • My Own Home - a client perspective on supported accommodation for people with severe mental illness
  • Strategic Review of Mental Health Services - a report setting out what Welsh service users want from the Strategic Review.

We are currently undertaking project work around:

  • Promoting the voice of service users and carers
  • Mental health draft legislation in Wales
  • Services for Mentally Disordered Offenders
  • Reaching people with severe mental illness in prison
  • Practical advice on supported housing options
  • Project management
