Ospreys player Lloyd Ashley becomes Hafal’s new Young People’s Ambassador

We are delighted to announce that Ospreys Rugby star Lloyd Ashley has become Hafal’s Young People’s Ambassador! Lloyd will champion our work for young people across Wales affected by mental illness and help us to campaign for improved services and support.

Lloyd told us: “I’m excited to take on the role of Hafal’s Young People’s Ambassador. I look forward to supporting the vital work the Charity does across Wales to support young people affected by mental illness – including those who have an illness themselves and those who care for someone with an illness.

“I’m especially keen to promote the work Hafal does to provide early intervention services to young people who are experiencing the first symptoms of a mental illness. If young people with mental health problems have support at the earliest possible opportunity there is a far greater chance of them recovering and avoiding disruption in their lives. It’s vital that this timely support is available to everyone.

“I look forward to delivering a positive message across Wales!”

Laura Morgan, Hafal’s Head of Service – Children & Young People, said: “We are thrilled that Lloyd has taken on this important new role. He will help us deliver some key messages to young people across Wales who are affected by mental illness: that they are not alone, that there is a way forward, and that we are here to support them on their journey.

“On behalf of Hafal’s Members across Wales: thank you Lloyd for your invaluable support!”
