A WWI remembrance concert at Glynarthen Chapel in Ceredigion has raised over £1600 for Hafal Crossroads.

The concert, which took place on Sunday 22 October, celebrated three giants of Welsh cultural and religious history: Wales’ most famous hymn writer William Williams, who was born 300 years ago in 1717; poet Hedd Wyn, who was killed in battle in Passchendaele 100 years ago in 1917, and Welsh entertainer Ryan Davies who died at the age of 40 in 1977.

The audience enjoyed a wonderful performance from Côr Caerdydd / Cardiff Choir whose conductor, Gwawr Owen, wanted to support Hafal Crossroads as she had personal experience of the respite service provided to carers by the charity.

Children from T Llew Jones Primary School, Brynhoffnant and Glynarthen Sunday School also sang at the event.

The concert was attended by MP Ben Lake and Assembly Member Elin Jones.
