Welsh greats to be celebrated at chapel concert in aid of Hafal Crossroads

A concert which takes place on Sunday 22 October at Glynarthen Chapel in Ceredigion will celebrate three giants of Welsh cultural and religious history.

Wales’ most famous hymn writer William Williams was born 300 years ago in 1717; poet Hedd Wyn was killed in battle in Passchendaele 100 years ago in 1917, and Welsh entertainer Ryan Davies died at the age of 40 in 1977.

The event will commemorate these three extraordinary Welsh lives while raising vital funds for Hafal Crossroads, a charity providing practical support, information and assistance to unpaid carers of all ages and the people they care for in the areas of Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Powys.

The event will feature award-winning choir Côr Caerdydd, Prof E. Wyn James from Cardiff University, local bard Idris Reynolds, sisters Elain and Lowri Davies from Ffostrasol, and Glynarthen Sunday School Choir.

Tickets are £8 and are available at the door or by contacting Reverend Carys Ann or Maldwyn Lewis on Tel: 01239 851005 / Email: post@maldwyn-lewis.cymru.
