Hafal receives a warm welcome at the Eid Dinner in Cardiff

Senior Consultant Christine Wilson and Family Support Worker Julie Pickin attended the annual “Eid Dinner” yesterday on behalf of Hafal and “Let’s Talk!”. The dinner, which was attended by approximately 150 people,  was organised by Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association (Cardiff Branch) and held at the Park Inn Hotel in Llanedeyrn, Cardiff.

Christine and Julie attended the event to support the work we are doing to help a small group of Ahmadiyya Muslim women to write their own mental  health and well-being book. We are working with all the women pictured above, and Sumara Kishwar is their project co-ordinator.

The aim of the Eid event was “to break the ice between communities living in Cardiff to promote peace, love and harmony in society with reference of the original teachings of Islam”. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders invited their family, friends, neighbours, teachers, Counsellors, the mayor of Newport and Cardiff, MEPs, the local police service, and representatives of the different religions based in Cardiff and surrounding areas.

We look forward to updating you on the progress of the mental health and well-being book later this year!
