Service users and staff from Hafal Colwyn Bay helped to organize and lead groups on an eight-mile coastal walk from Penrhyn Castle to Llanfairfechan on Saturday (29th June).
The aim of the event was to raise awareness of mental illness and to promote the annual Motiv8 North West Wales event in Caernarfon. Motiv8 is a fun-packed, free day that gives people with a mental illness the opportunity to try new activities that they can take up as a hobby, helping them to effectively manage and improve their mental health.
Turn out exceeded 50 people, and Mark Isherwood AM came along to support the event. The walk was supported by the National Trust who allowed participants to register and start the walk from Penrhyn Castle grounds. The event raised around £1,000 which will help towards the costs of the Caernarfon event on Thursday 22nd October.
