Hafal responds to Healthcare Inspectorate Wales’ review

A report into a homicide carried out by a mental health service user in the Tremorfa area of Cardiff in June 2009 has “highlighted concerns in relation to the adequacy of the care and treatment” provided to the user.

Health and Social Services Minister endorses physical exercise at Motiv8

Health and Social Services Minister Lesley Griffiths AM opened the Motiv8 day at Glyndwr University, Wrexham yesterday. The day, which is run for individuals, families and carers from North Wales who have experience of mental health problems, was designed to raise awareness of the close links between physical health and mental well-being.

“Taking the Wheel”, the national client-run campaign to put mental health service users in the driving seat, reaches the Eisteddfod, Wrexham and District, July 30th – August 6th.

Following on from its fantastic success at the Royal Welsh Show, “Taking the Wheel”, the service-user led campaign which aims to empower people with a serious mental illness in Wales to take control of their lives and the services they receive, is moving on to the Eisteddfod, which takes place in Wrexham and District, from July 30th – August 6th.
